Lauren Salkeld is a New York City-based writer and editor. After studying pastry at the French Culinary Institute, she spent a decade working for food magazines and websites, including Bon Appétit and Epicurious. She now uses her culinary and editorial background to help chefs and food personalities share their recipes and stories, by writing and editing cookbooks. Lauren has worked on numerous high-profile cookbook projects, including co-authoring Maman: The Cookbook with Elisa Marshall and Ben Sormonte and testing and editing the recipes for The Cook’s Atelier by Marjorie Taylor and Kendall Smith Franchini. She also edited Meike Peters’ James Beard Award–winning Eat in My Kitchen, as well as Cherry Bombe: The Cookbook, Lummi: Island Cooking by Blaine Wetzel, Mastering the Art of Japanese Home Cooking by Masaharu Morimoto, and A Place at the Table: New American Recipes from the Nation’s Top Foreign-Born Chefs. She’s also worked with numerous international authors, including Hetty McKinnon, Melissa Forti, Kille Enne, Sarah Glover, and Nevada Berg

Prior to launching her freelance career, Lauren spent eight years at Epicurious, overseeing recipe development, testing, and editing, and writing and editing features with the likes of Dorie Greenspan, Melissa Clark, Ina Garten, Gabrielle Hamilton, Sam Sifton, Rose Levy Beranbaum, and Nick Malgieri. Before that, Lauren was on staff at Bon Appétit and earned a Grand Diploma in Pastry Arts from The French Culinary Institute. She's also appeared on CNN, Weekend Today in New York, and CBS New York’s 2 in the Kitchen, as well as in Epicurious’ Summer Entertaining Video Series.
